Job summary

Bardfield Academy in Wallsend is seeking a qualified Nursery Assistant to join its warm, supportive early years team. You will help nurture and support children's emotional, physical and educational development during term-time, working 8:15am–3:30pm on Wed/Thu and 8:15am–2:15pm on Friday.

This fixed-term role runs until 31 August 2027. DBS clearance and safeguarding checks are required; we offer a Leadership Academy and strong staff well-being support.

Qualifications

• DBS clearance and references required.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day running of the nursery and children's development.
• Work 8:15am-3:30pm Wed/Thu and 8:15am-2:15pm Fri; term time only.

Job description

Job Title: Nursery Assistant

Contract: Fixed Term until 31st August 2027

Hours Per Week: 19 hours per week

Scale: Scale 3 Point 6-7 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Actual Salary: £11,446.53 - £11,623.90

Start Date: ASAP following interviews

Closing Date: Thursday 17th September 2026 Midday
