Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking enthusiastic Nursery Practitioners to support nurseries across Plymouth and surrounding areas. You can work a few days a week or regular shifts with flexible day-to-day work and an immediate start.

Roles involve creating a safe, stimulating environment for children aged 0–5, supporting development through play, and following EYFS with safeguarding at the core. Pay is £14.25–£16.00 per hour, with ongoing consultant support and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification, or QTS.
• Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting.
• Genuine passion for supporting children's development.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic personality.
• Confidence working with babies, toddlers and preschool children.
• Reliability, flexibility and adaptability to different nursery environments.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and the EYFS framework.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, happy and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5.
• Support children's learning and development through play-based activities.
• Encourage curiosity, confidence and independence in young learners.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and nursery teams.
• Support daily routines including mealtimes, personal care and outdoor play.
• Follow EYFS framework and prioritise safeguarding.
• Bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to each day.

What will you be doing?
