Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to work on a supply basis across Birmingham nurseries from September 2026. This is a flexible, full-time or part-time opportunity for experienced childcare professionals to support learning and development in early years settings.

The role focuses on creating a safe, engaging environment, assisting with play, and collaborating with staff and parents while following safeguarding procedures. DBS update service preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Experience in a nursery or early years setting
• Level 2/3 Childcare/Early Years qualification desirable
• Caring, patient and positive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible approach to work in different settings
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one

The Role

• Support children aged 0-5 in their learning and development
• Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (desirable but not essential)
• A caring, patient, and positive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A flexible approach and willingness to work in different settings
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
