Job summary

Showcase Training Ltd. in Godalming is seeking a Nursery Apprentice to join a friendly, local nursery. You will help create a warm, stimulating atmosphere and support the care, development and wellbeing of the children under supervision.

This 40-hour-per-week role runs Monday to Friday, at £8 per hour, with pay increasing to the National Minimum/Living Wage after 12 months. Training provided includes Early Years Practitioner Level 2, Early Years Educator Level 3, and related Functional Skills.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake Apprenticeship training.
• Ability to work with children aged 0-5 in a nursery setting.
• Good communication and observation skills and a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere for children to develop emotionally, socially and educationally.
• Under supervision, provide all aspects of care including washing, changing and feeding.
• Acting as key worker to a small group of children and recording observations and planning for them.
• Completing all Apprenticeship work as set by Showcase Training Assessor.
• Assisting with meeting personal and emotional needs of individual children.
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Being aware of the nursery policies and procedures and ensuring they are followed.
