Job summary

Showcase Training in Portsmouth is seeking a Nursery Apprentice to join a friendly local nursery. The role offers 30 hours per week, with a path to full-time employment and progression to higher level qualifications.

As an apprentice you will support children's development, provide care under supervision, and serve as a key worker for a small group. Training is provided through Showcase Training, with progression to Level 2/3 Apprenticeships and Maths/English skills as required.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship routes offered for the role.
• Training will be provided through Showcase Training.
• Maths and English Functional Skills required unless exempt.

Responsibilities

• Creating warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere for children to develop emotionally, socially and educationally
• Under supervision provide all aspects of care including washing, changing and feeding
• Act as key worker for a small group of children; record observations and plan accordingly
• Complete all Apprenticeship work as set by Showcase Training Assessor
• Assist with meeting personal and emotional needs of children
• Safeguard and promote welfare of children
• Follow nursery policies and procedures at all times

Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard

Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard

Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (unless exempt)
