Job summary

A friendly local nursery in Southampton is seeking a Nursery Apprentice through Showcase Training. The role is 30 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with wage of £8 per hour and progression to higher wages after 12 months.

Training will be provided via Showcase Training with Early Years Practitioner Level 2 or Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeships, plus Level 2 Maths/English. Travel to the employer daily is required; contact James for queries.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship pathway leading to full-time employment and higher qualifications.
• Role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• Wage starts at £8 per hour and increases after 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Create warm, stimulating atmosphere to support child development.
• Under supervision you will provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
• Act as key worker for a small group of children and record observations.
• Complete all Apprenticeship work as set by Assessor.
• Assist with meeting personal and emotional needs of individual children.
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Adhere to nursery policies and procedures.
