Job summary

WMC Training in Kidlington is offering a nursery apprentice role to start immediately. Working hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, in a real nursery setting where you will earn while you learn.

No prior experience is required; just enthusiasm and reliability. You will support staff, care for children aged 0–5, and work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting and training provider.

Responsibilities

  • Support educators to deliver the curriculum and standard of practice.
  • Work towards an early years qualification with support.
  • Seek help from team to aid learning.
  • Look after children aged 0-5 and attend to daily needs.
  • Plan and provide age-appropriate play in line with the curriculum.
  • Maintain safeguarding and welfare of all children.
  • Observe, assess and record learning progress.
  • Create an enabling environment for each child.
  • Build positive relationships with parents/carers.
  • Adhere to the setting’s policies and attend team meetings.

WMC Training is seeking a dedicated Nursery apprentice to join the professional, rewarding, and supportive team at Kidlington OX5 1RF.

Working Hours: 8:00am - 6:00pm Monday to Friday

  • Earn while you learn – this is a paid role working with children in a real nursery setting
  • You'll get hands-on experience supporting early years development

No experience needed – just enthusiasm, reliability, and a love for working with children!

DUTIES
  • To support fellow educators/practitioners to deliver the setting’s curriculum and standard of practice.
  • To work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting’s staff and training provider.
  • To seek support from members of the team to assist your learning.
  • To work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting.
  • To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children.
  • To plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care.
  • To ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
  • To observe, assess and record children’s learning and development progress.
  • Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each unique individual child.
  • To build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
  • To adhere to and follow the setting’s policies and procedures.
  • To attend regular team meetings.
  • To ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
  • To attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Setting Manager for training requirements.
