Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager for night shifts at Blackmoor care home in Birmingham. You will lead the unit's nursing team, ensure high standards of care, and manage clinical risks.

The role requires an NMC PIN and prior management experience, with full-time hours on nights. You will guide care plans, oversee medication management, and ensure staff cohesiveness across Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates and HCAs.

Qualifications

• First-level nursing registration with a valid NMC PIN.
• Post-registration and management or supervisory experience or training.
• Experience in a management role within a care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead your unit's care and nursing teams to meet residents' medical, physical and emotional needs.
• Provide strong leadership to maintain high standards of care and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee and manage all clinical elements and risks for the unit.
• Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed timely.
• Act as Named Nurse for residents and oversee care profiles.
• Supervise ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication.

Contract type: Full time, 36 or 42 hours per week on Nights

Rate: £25.30 per hour

About the role

As a Unit Manager with Exemplar Health Care, you'll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit. No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• leading your unit's care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support
• providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement
• overseeing and managing all your unit's clinical elements and risks
• ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately
• acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles
• the supervision and management of your unit's ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication

As this is a management role, you should also have post-registration and management or supervisory experience and/or training or qualifications.
