Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is seeking a Unit Manager (RGN/RMN/RNLD) for Walton Grove in Oldham. This role leads a nursing and care team, ensures person-centred care, and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager. The unit focuses on delivering high-quality clinical care with strong leadership and team support.

You will manage daily operations on the unit, drive standards, and oversee medications and care planning. A post-registration management background and an NMC PIN are essential.

Qualifications

• First-level Nursing registration with a valid NMC PIN.
• Post-registration and management or supervisory experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Lead your unit’s care and nursing teams to meet residents’ medical, physical and emotional needs.
• Maintain and develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee and manage all clinical elements and risks of your unit.
• Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed and reflect interventions.
• Act as Named Nurse for residents with oversight of their care profiles.
• Supervise medication ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal.

Location: 1 Guido Street, Failsworth, Oldham, M35 0AL
Contract type: Full time, 42 hours per week on days
Rate: £24.20 per hour

About the role

As a Unit Manager with Exemplar Health Care, you’ll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• leading your unit’s care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support
• providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement
• overseeing and managing all your unit’s clinical elements and risks
• ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately
• acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles
• the supervision and management of your unit’s ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication.
