Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is recruiting a Unit Manager (RGN, RMN, RNLD) for Walton Grove care home in Oldham. The role is a full-time, day-shift position with 42 hours per week and a £24.20 per hour rate. You will lead a team of nurses and support staff, uphold high standards of care and drive continuous improvement on your unit.

You will be a registered nurse with an NMC PIN and have post-registration and management experience to progress into a leadership role within our supportive organization.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC PIN and first-level nursing registration.
• Experience in managing a nursing unit or similar leadership role.
• Strong clinical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the unit’s care and nursing teams to meet medical, physical and emotional needs of residents.
• Provide strong leadership to maintain high standards of care and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee and manage all clinical elements and risks on the unit.
• Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed and reflect interventions.
• Act as the Named Nurse for residents, updating care profiles as needed.
• Supervise ordering, handling, storage, administration and disposal of medications.

Location: 1 Guido Street, Failsworth, Oldham, M35 0AL

Contract type: Full time, 42 hours per week on days

Rate: £24.20 per hour

About The Role

As a Unit Manager with Exemplar Health Care, you’ll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• leading your unit’s care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support
• providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement
• overseeing and managing all your unit’s clinical elements and risks
• ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately
• acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles
• the supervision and management of your unit’s ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication.
