Exemplar Health Care's Tyne Grange care home in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Unit Manager (RGN/RMN/RNLD) to lead a qualified nursing and care team. You will work under the Clinical Nurse Manager to drive quality, maintain high standards of care and ensure safe, person-centred nursing delivery on your unit.

You will oversee medication handling, care plans and risk assessments, act as Named Nurse for residents, and support staff development within a respectful, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• First-level nursing registration with an NMC PIN required.
• Post-registration management or supervisory experience or training preferred.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of nursing and care colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead your unit's nursing and care teams to meet residents' medical, physical and emotional needs.
• Provide strong leadership to maintain high standards of care and drive improvements.
• Oversee and manage all clinical elements and risks on your unit.
• Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed and reflect interventions.
• Act as the Named Nurse for residents, overseeing care profiles.

About the role

As a Unit Manager with Exemplar Health Care, you'll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• leading your unit's care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support


• providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement


• overseeing and managing all your unit's clinical elements and risks


• ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately


• acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles


• supervision and management of your unit's ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication.
