The NHS seeks a qualified nurse/midwife sonographer in London, known for its supportive work culture. The role of nurse/midwife sonographer requires a high degree of personal professional autonomy and making clinical judgements. Taking sole and joint responsibility for the patient and procedure during diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures to ensure a successful patient-based outcome within the acute setting, which will require assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment.
Main duties include becoming an essential member, point of contact, and resource for EPAU patients and their significant others. Carrying out diagnostic/therapeutic interventions independently, interpreting results, writing reports, and initiating further treatment based on findings. Performing complex therapeutic/investigational procedures under indirect supervision of the Consultant, ensuring safe practice according to guidelines/protocols to maintain high standards. Demonstrating the ability to develop new skills to provide an expert, high-quality, nurse-led service. Providing ongoing follow-up care and support through telephone, nurse-led clinics, or outpatient clinics.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist/Specialist Midwife role requires a high level of personal professional autonomy and clinical judgement. Responsibilities include taking sole and joint responsibility for patients during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, providing advice to Consultants and other professionals, participating in nursing/midwifery leadership, and supporting a high-quality, expert, and expanded nurse/midwife-led service through effective interdisciplinary care and review of treatment effectiveness.
