About The Role

The Nurse Leader will develop, implement, and manage the CAPS School Health Program, ensuring compliance with MA state guidelines and regulations. The role combines clinical leadership with direct student care, overseeing nursing staff and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state-mandated health services, including screenings and immunization reviews.
• Establish, review, and implement school health policies and procedures.
• Prepare health reports for state departments.
• Participate in regional and statewide meetings and professional development.
• Manage communicable disease control and monitor health records.
• Oversee nursing supplies, staff hiring, and training.
• Coordinate emergency planning and collaborate with external agencies.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.

Candidate Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts RN license.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education School Nurse license or eligibility.
• Minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience, including child or school health.
