Job summary

Maximus is recruiting a Nurse Functional Assessor in Peterborough to conduct assessments that determine eligibility for benefits. The role combines clinical reviews with patient guidance and requires valid NMC registration and at least 1 year of post-registration experience. The position offers training, mentorship, and hybrid working arrangements.

You will complete six weeks of training, then perform assessments with support to continually develop your clinical skills and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports for DWP eligibility decisions
• Develop clinical knowledge with regular feedback and supervision
