Job summary

SJB Medical is recruiting a Nurse Functional Assessor (VR/00003) for Bristol, England. Salary ranges from £40,000 to £50,000 per year, plus an approval bonus and benefits. There is a guaranteed £2,000 salary uplift in year one, a 5% one-off approval bonus, and up to 10% annual performance bonus.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (part-time also available), based at one of our UK centres. We offer a structured working environment, comprehensive training, and clear career

Qualifications

• Be a registered healthcare professional (Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic, or Pharmacist).
• Have at least 12 months’ post-registration experience within the last 5 years.
• Have no current restrictions to practice.
• Demonstrate strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional assessments and produce clear, accurate, high-quality reports.
• Use clinical judgement to assess a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate records in line with clinical governance and quality standards.
• Engage in ongoing training, CPD, and clinical supervision.
• Deliver assessments with empathy, professionalism, and integrity.

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you’ll use your clinical expertise in a new and rewarding way, carrying out functional assessments that support individuals applying for health‑related benefits. This role allows you to apply your clinical judgement while enjoying regular working hours, no night shifts, and no weekend work.
