SJB Medical is hiring a Functional Assessor in the UK. You will apply clinical judgement to carry out functional assessments that support health-related benefit applications, with regular hours, no night shifts, and no weekend work.

Based at one of our UK centres, you will join a multidisciplinary team, receive comprehensive training, and have clear career development pathways in a structured working environment.

Qualifications

• Be a registered healthcare professional (Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist).
• Have at least 12 months' post-registration experience within the last 5 years.
• Have no current restrictions to practice.
• Demonstrate strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional assessments and produce clear, accurate reports.
• Use clinical judgement to assess a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate records in line with governance and quality standards.
• Engage in ongoing CPD and clinical supervision.
• Deliver assessments with empathy, professionalism, and integrity.

Functional Assessor

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Location: Southampton

Additional pay & bonuses:

• Guaranteed £2,000 salary uplift within your first year (subject to approval milestones and contract)
• One-off approval bonus of 5% of salary
• Up to 10% annual performance bonus based on quality and performance

Working pattern:

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
Part-time hours available

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise in a new and rewarding way, carrying out functional assessments that support individuals applying for health-related benefits. This role allows you to apply your clinical judgement while enjoying regular working hours, no night shifts, and no weekend work.
