Job summary

SJB Medical in Oxford is seeking a Nurse Functional Assessor to join our clinical recruitment team. You will conduct functional assessments, write clear, evaluation-grade reports, and apply clinical judgement across physical and mental health conditions.

This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality assessments within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, with emphasis on patient wellbeing and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Be a registered healthcare professional.
• Minimum 12 months post-registration experience within the last 5 years.
• No current restrictions to practice.
• Strong communication, assessment and report-writing skills.

Salary: GBP40000 - GBP50000 per annum + + approval bonus & benefits

Functional Assessor

Location: Oxford

Additional pay & bonuses:

• Guaranteed £2,000 salary uplift within your first year (subject to approval milestones and contract)
• One‑off approval bonus of 5% of salary
• Up to 10% annual performance bonus based on quality and performance

Working pattern:

Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Part‑time hours available

What you’ll do

• Conduct functional assessments and produce clear, accurate, high‑quality reports
• Use clinical judgement to assess a wide range of physical and mental health conditions
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate records in line with clinical governance and quality standards
• Engage in ongoing training, CPD, and clinical supervision
• Deliver assessments with empathy, professionalism, and integrity

What you’ll need

To apply, you must:

• Be a registered healthcare professional (Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic, or Pharmacist)
• Have at least 12 months’ post‑registration experience within the last 5 years
• Have no current restrictions to practice
• Demonstrate strong communication, assessment, and report‑writing skills
