A healthcare provider in Gateshead is seeking an experienced nurse to join the Acute Admiral Nurse Team, supporting Dementia care. The role involves specialized assessments, training facilitation, and supporting families. Candidates must be registered nurses with significant experience in Dementia care and relevant teaching qualifications. This position is fixed-term for 12 months, focused on improving Dementia awareness training across the trust.

PLEASE NOTE it is a requirement of this Trust that all successful applicants pay for their DBS certificate if a check is required for the post. This will be done through deduction from your monthly pay over a maximum of three months. It is also a requirement that all successful applicants register or are registered with the DBS update service where a DBS is required.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nurse experienced in Dementia care to join a collaboration between Dementia UK and Gateshead Health as an Acute Admiral Nurse Team. The team provide support, advice, guidance and training to clinicians to enable them to provide the right care and interventions to patients who have been admitted for treatment of their physical health with a diagnosis of Dementia. The team also provide support to families and carers, and will support with assessments of patients. The team work closely with the Community Admiral Nurses to ensure smooth transitions for patients with Dementia.
This role is fixed term for a period of 12 months and is specifically to support with improving Tier 1 and Tier 2 Dementia awareness training across the Trust. It is therefore important that the right candidate has significant experience and interest in Dementia care, and has experience in delivering training.
