The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and planning their own caseload as an autonomous practitioner and monitoring those of other team members to meet patient priorities and service needs (e.g., peer audits). They will work within a multidisciplinary framework, prioritising and organising workload effectively using time management skills, which may involve readjusting plans in response to situations such as patient crises, tribunal reports, and Mental Health Act meetings.
The post holder will respond to referrals from primary care, outpatient, and ward settings by undertaking comprehensive assessments of patients with complex needs (mental health, physical, emotional, psychosocial). They will use investigative, analytical, and clinical reasoning skills to provide accurate reports of their condition and communicate these to involved professionals both in writing and verbally.
They will receive clinical supervision monthly and supervise and coordinate less experienced staff and students, ensuring standards of good practice through leadership and supervision. They will also provide advice, training, and education to other members of the MDT and colleagues regarding nursing and evidence-based interventions.
