Job summary

ExamWorks UK is seeking a Nurse Assessor to support DWP in delivering Functional Assessments, working on-site in Bolton. The role offers full-time and part-time hours with a strong emphasis on accurate reporting and clinical judgement.

You will assess medical evidence, prepare detailed, evidence-based reports, and work closely with claimants to explain findings while maintaining empathy and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, or Physiotherapist.
• Valid PIN and full registration on the NMC or HCPC with no conditions.
• Excellent communication skills with empathy and listening abilities.
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet targets while maintaining report quality.
• Good computer literacy and typing speed.
• Passion for working with people with both mental and physical health conditions.

What We’re Looking For:

• A minimum of 1-year post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, or Physiotherapist.

Your Role as a Nurse Assessor:

You will be using your clinical expertise to assess and analyse medical evidence, assessing individuals online and face to face. Providing comprehensive, evidence-based reports.

• Produce detailed reports that justify your findings and recommendations to support the DWP in the decision-making process.


• Work closely with claimants to ensure they are fully informed during the assessment process, managing their expectations and being empathetic during a difficult situation.
