Job summary

Home Close, part of Healthcare Homes Group near Cambridge, is seeking a qualified nurse to join our compassionate team on night shifts.

You will provide person-centred care, administer prescribed medication, support admissions and discharges, and participate in weekly GP rounds while maintaining up-to-date care plans.

With a focus on respect, dignity and choice, you’ll help create a supportive environment, develop the care team and contribute to excellent outcomes for our residents.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration and up-to-date clinical knowledge
• Experience writing detailed care plans including risk and diet plans
• Night shift nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide care to residents meeting physical and psychological needs
• Administration, documentation and ordering of prescribed medication
• Support with new admissions and discharges of residents
• Weekly GP rounds
• Updating and maintaining resident care plans, liaising with external parties where applicable
• Coaching, supporting and developing our care team to deliver a high standard of care at all times

  48 hours per week on nights (includes alternate weekends)

  At Home Close. We provide person-centred nursing, residential, respite and dementia care. We have a specialist nursing team and the whole team always work to provide varied and engaging activities and compassionate care centred by respect, dignity and choice.

  What would a typical day look like?

  • Provide support and care to our residents, meeting their physical and psychological needs
  • Administration, documentation and ordering of prescribed medication
  • Support with new admissions and discharges of residents
  • Weekly GP rounds
  • Updating and maintaining resident care plans, liaising with external parties where applicable
  • Coaching, supporting and developing our care team to deliver a high standard of care at all times

  Our nursing team are the backbone of our home and it is essential that our team have current NMC registrations, up to date knowledge of clinical practices and experience in writing detailed care plans including risk assessments and diet plans. A good understanding of regulatory frameworks including MCA/DoLs is also required.

  As part of our commitment to our nursing community, you will be provided with a thorough induction and training programme to further develop your skills along with the support and guidance of a well-established clinical training team.
