Job summary

EDF Energy is offering a Nuclear Systems Engineering Industrial Placement on site at Heysham 1, Morecambe. The 12-month programme provides hands‑on experience, training, and mentoring designed to shape a career in nuclear engineering.

You will develop skills in planning, team work and problem solving, while gaining exposure to the Fuel Route process and plant operations. Eligibility requires a 2:2 degree in Maths/Physics/Science/Engineering and UK right to work.

Qualifications

• Candidate on track for a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Maths, Physics, Science or Engineering.
• Developing project planning and teamwork skills during the placement.
• Willingness to engage in mentorship and hands-on nuclear systems work.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nuclear Systems Engineering team with on-site tasks at Heysham 1.
• Assist in planning and delivering work packages within the Fuel Route process.
• Gain hands-on experience across safety, governance, quality assurance, and IT systems.
