Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Mechanical CAD Engineer to deliver component models, P&IDs, and integrated layouts for a Small Modular Reactor project. Reporting to the CAD Manager, you will develop SMR layouts, generate CAD models, and contribute to high-standard drawings within a regulated nuclear environment.

Role requires experience in AutoCAD and 3D CAD/BIM tools, SC clearance or capability to obtain it, and collaboration with engineering designers to ensure quality and consistency across

Qualifications

• Experienced Mechanical CAD Engineer or similar role.
• Proficient in 2D CAD systems like AutoCAD.
• Skilled in 3D CAD/BIM systems (Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc).
• Professionally qualified in an engineering-related field.
• SC Clearance or the capability to achieve it.
• Able to meet UK security clearance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Integrated Layout Design: Develop layout solutions from concept to construction.
• CAD Modeling: Create component CAD models and definitions to standards.
• Diagram Production: Generate 2D process, instrumentation, and ventilation diagrams.
• Data Management: Assist in product configuration and data management processes.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct peer reviews of models and definitions.
• CAD Environment Management: Set up templates, standards, QA processes, and training.
• Team Support: Provide CAD expertise and mentorship to CAD/BIM team and juniors.
