Job summary

Assystem, a leading nuclear engineering group, seeks a Mechanical CAD Engineer for the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit. You will deliver component models, P&IDs, layouts, and assemblies for SMR projects, collaborating with engineering designers to produce high-quality CAD definitions.

You will develop layouts, generate 2D diagrams, manage data, and uphold QA standards while mentoring junior staff and maintaining CAD environments. The role includes hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical CAD Engineer or similar, delivering precise models and drawings.
• Proficient in 2D CAD (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD/BIM tools for complex systems.
• SC Clearance or ability to obtain it for high-security projects.

Responsibilities

• Integrated layout design from concept to construction based on specs.
• Create component CAD models and definitions to standards.
• Produce 2D diagrams for process, instrumentation, and ventilation.
• Assist in product configuration and data management.
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure model and definition quality.
• Set up CAD tools, templates, standards, QA processes, and training materials.
• Provide CAD training and mentorship to the CAD/BIM team.
