Job summary

Nuclearinst is seeking a Nuclear Safety Engineer for Sizewell C on a permanent, full-time basis. The role will help establish pre-operational safety arrangements and bridge the nuclear safety case with the future operator.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across Sizewell C locations, ensure regulatory compliance, support the safety case, and contribute to a small, resilient Nuclear Safety team as the pre-operations programme progresses.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Understanding of nuclear reactor physics and regulatory requirements.
• Strong technical understanding of nuclear power plant operations, ideally PWR.
• Ability to champion nuclear safety and provide constructive challenge.
• Experience with Sizewell C or other nuclear projects (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver activities within the pre-operational nuclear safety strategy.
• Provide nuclear safety expertise to support the future Sizewell C operating organisation.
• Contribute to the development and application of the nuclear safety case.
• Represent the interests of the future operator across the pre-operations function.
