Job summary

Elite Hire is seeking a Safety Case Engineer to develop and defend safety arguments ensuring facilities remain licensed and operating safely in the UK.

You will write, review and verify nuclear safety case documents, perform hazard analyses (HAZID/HAZOP) and deliver ALARP justifications, substantiating systems against safety requirements while coordinating with engineering teams and licensees. UK security clearance eligibility is required for some roles.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, physics or a related science.
• 3+ years in the UK nuclear industry, including safety case work.
• Understanding of ONR expectations and the UK nuclear licensing regime.
• Clear technical writing and the ability to build a reasoned argument.

Responsibilities

• Write, review and verify nuclear safety case documents.
• Carry out hazard identification and analysis, including HAZID and HAZOP.
• Produce fault studies, risk assessments and ALARP justifications.
• Substantiate systems, structures and components against safety requirements.
• Work with engineering teams and site licensees to resolve safety issues.
• Support periodic safety reviews and regulatory submissions.
