Job summary

Amentum seeks a Nuclear Technical Engineer to support the Independent Nuclear Assurance (INA) team in delivering safety and technical advice for the UK submarine Naval Reactor Plants. The role involves collaboration with MoD and contractors to ensure risk is identified, assessed and managed effectively.

You will contribute to safety cases, NRPA NSMAs and other regulatory outputs, applying core knowledge of nuclear safety and engineering to complex defence projects with emphasis on accuracy,

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Engineering (level 6) or equivalent required.
• Membership of a professional institution is desirable.
• Experience with Naval Reactor Plant knowledge and safety cases is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative safety and technical assessments to MoD.
• Coordinate across multiple technical disciplines and teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and technical standards.
• Support continuous improvement in health, safety, environment and security.
