Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Energy business in the UK, supporting nuclear fleet transformation and modular reactor projects. You will deliver electrical engineering solutions across the full lifecycle, collaborating with Principal Engineers and Operations Managers to maximise value.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and knowledge of HV systems, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or near Chartered status with a relevant body (support available).
• Knowledge of civil nuclear plant systems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across bid to installation and commissioning.
• Prepare technical docs and design justifications for safety-critical systems.
• Support requirements capture and systems engineering for new architectures.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, cyber, and quality standards.
• Manage deliverables from junior engineers and provide mentorship.
• Interface with clients, regulators and stakeholders on technical matters.
• Contribute to project planning, cost estimating, and risk management.
• Produce high-quality technical reports and foster client relationships.
