Job summary

Amentum, in partnership with The Decommissioning Alliance, seeks an experienced Plant Solid Waste Coordinator for Sellafield-related work packages. You will coordinate waste management activities, maintain records in the WETAS system, and collaborate with project engineers and advisors to ensure compliant, efficient waste solutions.

Qualifications

• Current Plant Solid Waste Coordinator SQEP.
• Experience in nuclear waste management projects within the Sellafield environment.
• Knowledge of radioactive waste packaging, transport, and disposability assessment processes.
• Strong understanding of Sellafield waste management procedures, routes, and governance.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to provide practical, informed waste management advice.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as Plant Solid Waste Coordinator across eight project work packages.
• Upload and maintain waste records within WETAS.
• Liaise with Project Waste Engineers, Sellafield Waste Advisors, and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate waste packaging, transport, treatment, and disposal activities.
• Provide technical waste management advice to project teams.
• Support the development and review of waste management documentation and justifications.
• Ensure compliance with Sellafield waste management arrangements, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for waste minimisation and disposal route optimisation.
