Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Plant Engineer for our Plymouth Devon site, offering hybrid working and a 35-hour week at Devonport.

You will support the safe operation of critical nuclear facilities, authorise safety documentation, and coordinate with production, design and technical teams to meet stringent regulatory requirements in a highly controlled environment. You must hold a Level 4 STEM qualification and be eligible for BPSS/SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting engineering operations, maintenance, or modification activities.
• Knowledge of working practices within a high-hazard or highly regulated industry.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience producing technical, scientific, or engineering reports.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders in a safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Support facility operations by identifying and managing actions to ensure design intent and safety requirements are maintained.
• Authorizing nuclear safety documentation and maintaining accurate records relating to facility plant and assets.
• Manage the implementation of engineering activities while coordinating with a range of stakeholders across production, design, and technical teams.
• Control master documentation for nuclear safety management arrangements within the facility.
• Investigate, implementing, and supporting improvements and modifications to nuclear facilities and associated assets
