As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting with the administration and detection of radioactive materials in diagnosis and therapy. The technologist verifies patients' records, prepares and administers radio-pharmaceuticals in prescribed dosages, positions the patient for imaging procedures, and operates the nuclear camera and equipment. The technologist prepares the results and presents them to the radiologist. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is knowledgeable about radiation safety, maintains inventory of radio-pharmaceuticals, and is responsible for their safe storage, use, and disposal of radioactive waste.
