Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Physics Technician to join the multidisciplinary team in the Nuclear Medicine department in Leicester. The role focuses on supporting Clinical Scientists with routine tasks, service development, and quality control in a busy imaging service.

You will participate in day-to-day supervision of trainee staff, ensure adherence to SOPs and radiation safety, and collaborate with radiographers, physicists, nurses and radiologists

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Physical Sciences or related subject.
• Knowledge of radiation protection and medical imaging.

Responsibilities

• Provide physics support to a high-quality Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine Service following written procedures.
• Assist in writing protocols and workflows used in imaging procedures and data processing.
• Participate in quality control programs for Nuclear Medicine equipment.
• Assist in supervising trainee technical staff in Nuclear Medicine.
• Support the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication across departments.
