Job summary

Bilfinger invites applications for aMechanical & piping designer to support a UK nuclear project. You will create 3D CAD models of pipework, vessels and equipment and ensure designs meet UK regulations and standards.

Collaboration with civil, structural, EC&I and process disciplines is required, with BIM experience preferred. Applicants should have HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, EngTech status or equivalent, and be able to obtain UK security clearance.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND) or equivalent.
• Experience as Designer in multi-discipline projects.
• EngTech with IMechE or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with design codes and standards (ASME, BS EN).
• Knowledge of BIM and 3D modelling practices.
• Able to meet UK security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Report to mechanical & piping engineering manager and project engineering manager.
• Design mechanical and piping for UK nuclear project.
• 3D CAD modelling and drafting of pipework, vessels and equipment.
• Ensure design deliverables are checked and compliant with UK standards.
• Complete mechanical and piping design within scope, time and budget.
• Identify changes to scope or design and input into change events.
