Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in Bridgwater is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support nuclear major projects and complex mechanical building services packages. You will prepare detailed cost estimates and contribute to winning tender submissions in a highly regulated environment.

The role offers hybrid working from Bridgwater/Bristol offices with a competitive package and extensive benefits in a major UK programme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in Building Services or MEP.
• Experience delivering projects in regulated sectors such as nuclear or energy.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping and related plant.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical building services packages.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Undertake detailed quantity take-offs and pricing exercises.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering proposals.
• Develop tender clarifications, assumptions and exclusions.
• Support tender review and governance processes.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to develop winning bids.
• Maintain accurate estimating and tender records throughout the bid lifecycle.
