Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd is seeking a Lead Estimator for nuclear and major projects in Bridgwater/Bristol. You will lead mechanical and electrical estimating across a portfolio of complex tenders, shaping bid strategy and governance in a highly regulated environment.

The role requires senior estimating leadership, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to manage risk while driving competitiveness. A long-term project pipeline and generous package accompany the opportunity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Lead Estimator or senior estimating role.
• Experience delivering tenders for major projects in nuclear, energy, defence or other highly regulated sectors.
• Strong commercial awareness and risk management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical and Electrical estimating activities across multiple tender opportunities.
• Review and challenge estimates for technical accuracy and competitiveness.
• Support bid strategy, bid/no-bid decisions and tender planning.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and value engineering initiatives.
• Chair tender review and governance meetings.
• Oversee supplier and subcontractor engagement during tenders.
• Support commercial negotiations and client clarification meetings.
• Establish and maintain estimating standards and governance processes.
• Lead, mentor and develop the estimating team.
