Job summary

Wood is recruiting a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support the HPC project at Bridgwater. The role involves planning, reviewing contractor commissioning documentation, and executing tests on site at the HPC Site Office in Bridgwater on a 12-month rolling PAYE contract, 40 hours per week.

You will work with the Commissioning Manager and contractor teams to deliver safe commissioning of HPC systems, analyze results, and ensure deliverables meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of Mechanical & Process Systems.
• Experience with auxiliary steam systems.
• Strong engineering skills and problem solving.
• Good communication and ability to convey complex information.
• Ability to work with contractors and teams.
• Delivery focus with track record or delivery mindset.
• History of working within safety and quality cultures.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to a Commissioning Manager in the NNB HPC Project team.
• Develop commissioning documentation and review contractor-produced documentation.
• Contribute to detailed planning and own a programme of tests.
• Lead or participate in site commissioning activities with contractor supervision.
• Provide information to meet project-level objectives and milestones.
• Analyse commissioning results and report the test outcomes.
