Job summary

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate is essential for the role.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is desirable.
• Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH / Grad IOSH / CMIOSH preferred).
• SC/DV clearance (may be required) for nuclear site work.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert health and safety advice to project teams involved in nuclear separation and decommissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, and nuclear-specific regulatory requirements.
• Support the development, implementation, and review of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to site safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
• Assist in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and reporting, ensuring lessons learned are communicated effectively.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, coaching, and behavioural safety initiatives.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, including ONR, as required.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.

NEBOSH General Certificate
