Job summary

Rolls-Royce is offering a Nuclear Graduates programme for a Digital Software Engineer to develop critical software systems and contribute to the UK nuclear sector over two years with three secondments across the country.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain digital systems, follow secure coding practices, collaborate with end users and engineers, and gain mentoring and structured development through the programme.

Qualifications

• 2:2 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, C++, Java).
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Git.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel and learn new technologies.
• Security clearance checks required.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain digital software systems critical to business operations.
• Establish and promote digital development processes and best practices.
• Manage projects and requirements with end users and business partners.
• Write clean, secure, well-tested code following standards.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.
• Support full lifecycle and design new software capabilities.
