Job summary

Magnox (NRS) at Harwell offers a full-time four-day working week in nuclear decommissioning. This hands-on role lets you gain experience in radioactive waste management, decontamination and the safe operation of specialist equipment while building skills for a career in the nuclear sector.

You will join a team delivering practical work essential to the site’s safe clean-up, handling waste, decontamination activities and waste movements, with variety, long-term development and daily impact.

Qualifications

• Safety, teamwork and following procedures are essential.
• Willingness to work in a physical, manual environment.
• Experience with waste handling or materials handling is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out decommissioning, waste management and decontamination in a radioactive environment.
• Identify, process and prepare waste for its next destination.
• Split time between decontamination facility operations and yard-based waste management.
