Job summary

Aureos is recruiting a Project Manager to lead a major nuclear decommissioning and demolition project in Dungeness. You will be responsible for safe, compliant delivery under NEC4, managing risk, programme, and stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.

You will oversee deplanting, asbestos surveys, waste management, and demolition with a focus on robust planning, subcontract control, and reporting. Strong leadership and nuclear sector experience are essential.

Qualifications

• MIDE or CCDO qualification is essential.
• Degree or HNC/HND qualification or relevant apprenticeship is desirable.
• 10+ years’ experience in major construction or infrastructure projects is desirable.
• Proven experience in demolition/deconstruction projects is desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts is desirable.
• Experience in highly regulated environments is desirable.
• Strong understanding of demolition methodologies, temporary works, and sequencing risks is desirable.
• Excellent health, safety, and environmental leadership in high-hazard environments is desirable.
• Ability to manage major subcontract and direct works packages is desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing cost, change, and risk is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and regulators is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of major nuclear decommissioning/demolition packages.
• Manage subcontractors and specialist demolition contractors with safe systems of work.
• Drive performance across HSEQ, programme, and commercial outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety case, regulatory standards, and site licence conditions.
• Manage demolition and dismantling activities including hazardous materials handling and waste streams.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, radiological protection, and commercial functions.
• Assist with planning, sequencing of complex demolition works.
• Maintain risk management focusing on radiological, structural and environmental hazards.
• Foster client relationships and interface with regulators.
• Report progress, cost, risk, and performance accurately.
• Lead continuous improvement and safety culture.
• Ensure teams are trained and aligned with project objectives.
