Bilfinger UK is recruiting an Area Lead for the Hinkley Point C project. You will coordinate multiple teams, uphold nuclear safety, and drive milestones to completion. This on-site, full-time role requires strong leadership, quality control, and regulatory compliance across all construction activities.

You will report on progress, manage resources and schedules, and ensure work meets project specifications, timelines, and safety standards in a demanding nuclear environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate various teams, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and drive project milestones to completion.
• Oversee daily construction operations within your designated area, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors to meet project specifications and timelines.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure that all construction work meets the stringent standards required for nuclear facilities, including inspections and testing.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols specific to nuclear construction, with regular safety meetings and training to promote a culture of safety.
• Manage reporting and investigation of safety incidents or near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Act as the primary point of contact between project managers, engineers, and regulatory bodies, keeping all parties informed of progress and changes.
• Prepare and present regular reports on construction progress, safety performance, and issues that may arise.
• Oversee allocation and utilization of resources to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules, coordinating with other project areas to minimize delays and conflicts.
• Stay informed about regulations and standards governing nuclear construction to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of construction activities, safety inspections, and compliance checks for audits.
