Job summary

Astute is recruiting a Commercial Manager for its Bristol facility to provide commercial oversight and control, ensuring delivery aligns with client-side arrangements and company targets. The role focuses on managing contracts, procurement, and financial aspects while driving growth and client relationships.

Hybrid working and a competitive package are offered. The successful candidate will have junior contract/commercial management experience, strong finance knowledge, and adept negotiation

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a junior contract/commercial management role.
• Good background in corporate finance, with understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and cost management.
• Experience in complex negotiations and stakeholder management under high-pressure conditions.
• Strong knowledge of contract terms and construction industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all commercial processes (including procurement) are implemented and followed.
• Contribute to developing processes to improve and maximise growth.
• Draft and develop robust commercial documents with Legal to protect interests and maximise opportunities.
• Ensure organisation compliance with contract obligations as stated.
• Communicate terms and financial aspects to internal and external parties.
• Coach and develop employees on best practices for managing complex contract issues.
• Nurture relationships with clients to ensure long-term delivery and value for the company.
• Involvement in negotiating and agreeing contracts prior to contract placement.
• Involvement with the bid process to highlight commercial risk.
• Accept extra duties as situations arise.
