Job summary

NUVIA UK is hiring a mechanical/ multidisciplinary engineer to support the Lead and Project Engineers in planning, coordinating and delivering engineering activities for the ILW Buffer Storage Facility. The role acts as the day-to-day focal point for engineering and interfaces with multiple teams.

You will work within a highly regulated environment, ensuring design outputs meet project requirements and safety standards while helping develop schedules and governance processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, process, nuclear engineering or related field.
• Chartered status or progress toward professional registration.
• Experience delivering engineering projects in regulated industries.
• Familiarity with CDM Regulations 2015 and their application.
• Desirable project/engineering management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMI).

Responsibilities

• Support Lead and Project Engineers across design phases for the ILW Buffer Storage project.
• Coordinate engineering activities across disciplines and ensure timely outputs.
• Manage day-to-day technical interfaces between teams and stakeholders.
• Develop project requirements, design documents and technical specs.
• Coordinate technical reviews and ensure compliant design outputs.
• Support concept designs, optioneering and engineering assessments.
• Support governance, readiness and gate reviews, track actions and risks.
• Contribute to project schedules and engineering delivery plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with Building Services, Waste Management, Operations and external suppliers.
