Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with construction experience.
• Experience in adjudication and TCC litigation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad range of construction and engineering disputes.
• Managing matters from instruction through resolution with exposure to high-value disputes.
• Conducting adjudications with notices, referrals and enforcement.
• Handling litigation in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC).
• Advising on arbitration, mediation, negotiation and other ADR.
• Drafting pleadings, statements and litigation documentation.
• Managing budgets, deadlines and client expectations across matters.
• Collaborating with partners, solicitors and paralegals across the team.

Contentious Construction Solicitor - NQ - 4 PQE

TSR Legal are currently supporting a multi office top 100 law firm who are looking for a Contentious Construction Solicitorto join an established and growing Construction team in Cardiff.

You will advise a broad range of clients, including developers, contractors, consultants, funders, investors and public sector organisations, on a variety of construction and engineering disputes.

The role will involve managing matters from initial instruction through to resolution, with exposure to complex and high-value disputes and the opportunity to develop strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad range of construction and engineering disputes.
• Advising on contractual disputes, including payment, delay, disruption, defects, variations, extensions of time and termination.
• Managing and conducting adjudications, including preparing notices, referrals, responses and enforcement proceedings.
• Conducting and assisting with litigation, including proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC).
• Advising on arbitration, mediation, negotiation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Providing strategic advice on dispute avoidance and early resolution.
• Drafting pleadings, submissions, witness statements, expert instructions and other litigation and adjudication documentation.
• Managing matters effectively, including budgets, deadlines, client expectations and case strategy.
• Working collaboratively with partners, solicitors, paralegals and specialists across the wider business.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Supporting business development initiatives, including networking, seminars, client training and legal updates.
• Contributing to the continued development and growth of the Construction & Engineering practice.

Our client is looking for:

• Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales.
• Relevant experience in contentious construction or has completed a construction seat Experience of adjudication and/or TCC litigation.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and the legal principles relevant to construction disputes.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and advocacy skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of clients' wider business objectives.
• The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively to deadlines. Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
