Job summary

Mode Labs is hiring its first NPI Engineer to take evolving designs from prototype through pilot builds into repeatable production. You will own manufacturing processes, tooling, documentation and test activities, coordinating pilot‑build work and supporting the product’s transfer into production.

This hands-on role spans product build, process development, tooling and data. You will own defined work packages and help establish a safe, scalable production capability in a small, collaborative

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and testing complex technical products.
• Experience creating or improving manufacturing processes, work instructions, fixtures or test methods.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD data; familiarity with SolidWorks or eDrawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pilot and pre-production build activities and capture issues and learnings.
• Provide design-for-manufacture/assembly/test input across interfaces.
• Review designs and production documentation to identify manufacturing issues and gaps.
• Develop and release assembly, inspection, calibration and end-of-line test processes.
• Design or specify tooling, jigs, fixtures and test equipment for repeatable production.
• Establish process controls, traceability and production records.
• Investigate build/test failures with structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners on process development and transfer.
