Job summary

Mode Labs is seeking an NPI Engineer to industrialise our first commercial sensor platform and scale production in Oxfordshire. You will collaborate with R&D to move designs from prototype to pilot builds and into repeatable production, owning processes, tooling and test activities.

This hands-on role spans product build, process development, tooling and data-driven improvements, with responsibility for work packages and manufacturing documentation, while ensuring safe and scalable production on

Qualifications

• Two or more years in manufacturing, production engineering or build/test of a complex technical product.
• Hands-on experience assembling, testing and troubleshooting complex products.
• Experience creating or improving manufacturing processes, work instructions, fixtures or test methods.
• Experience defining and improving assembly, calibration, inspection or test processes.
• Experience designing, specifying or manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures or test equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD data; familiarity with SolidWorks or eDrawings.
• Ability to produce clear work instructions, build records and manufacturing reports.
• Ability to manage a defined work package and communicate progress.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pilot and pre-production build activities and capture learnings.
• Provide design-for-manufacture input across optical, mechanical, electronic and sensing interfaces.
• Develop and release assembly, inspection, calibration and end-of-line test processes.
• Design or specify tooling, jigs, fixtures and test equipment for repeatable production.
• Establish process controls, traceability and production records.
• Investigate build/test failures using root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Work with suppliers on process development and transfer to production.
• Maintain safe, clean production environments and support on-time delivery.
