Job summary
Mode Labs is hiring a senior, hands-on engineering leader to own productisation and industrialisation of the first commercial sensor platform. You will translate MVP into a robust, compliant, manufacturable product and lead a path from prototype to controlled production, working with engineering, quality, operations and supply chain.
You will mentor and build a manufacturing team, define BOMs, tests and regulatory pathways, and drive readiness gates and supplier qualification to scale
Qualifications
- Significant experience in NPI and product industrialisation.
- Proven track record taking hardware from prototype to controlled production.
- Experience with verification, compliance and external certification testing.
- Strong knowledge of DFM, production test, tooling and quality planning.
- Experience leading pilot builds and data-led improvements in yield or cost.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Responsibilities
- Own the industrialisation roadmap, development stages, release gates and production-readiness criteria.
- Lead DFM, DFA, design-for-test, service and reliability activities across interfaces.
- Establish a controlled product definition covering BOMs, drawings, specs and software dependencies.
- Lead pilot and pre-production builds and translate results into design/process improvements.
- Determine regulatory and certification routes for markets and use.
- Own verification/validation strategy with traceability and testing methods.
- Coordinate pre-compliance testing with advisers and labs.
- Develop environmental and reliability testing for remote deployment.
