Job Description

Are you ready to help scale a cutting-edge aerospace product into high-volume production? ALTEN UK is seeking a skilled NPI Manufacturing Engineer to drive improvements on a next-gen system that's pushing boundaries in automated production. You'll work closely with design teams to refine a product that's already seen multiple design reviews—but now needs your expertise to get it right for manufacturing at scale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with design & engineering teams to resolve design-for-manufacture issues and optimise product readiness.
  • Lead and support NPI (New Product Introduction) activities to ensure smooth transition into high-volume production.
  • Analyse and improve production processes, with a strong focus on automation and lean principles.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement robust corrective actions.
  • Identify and deliver process improvements, ensuring repeatability and scalability of production.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, quality, and design to ensure compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards.
Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

  • Proven experience in NPI and manufacturing engineering within the aerospace or other high-reliability industries.
  • Strong understanding of production line automation, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Comfortable working hands-on to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Ability to critically assess product designs and contribute to design for manufacture (DFM) improvements.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient with CAD tools and capable of reading technical drawings.
