Job summary

Syntech Recruitment are supporting a well‑established engineering and manufacturing business near Woking with the appointment of an experienced Engineering Project Manager. This hands‑on role takes new product development projects from concept through to production launch and coordinates Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality and other departments to keep milestones on track.

Qualifications

• Previous project management experience within engineering, manufacturing or product development.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and how products progress from development into production.
• Strong project planning skills, including milestones, dependencies, critical paths and deadlines.
• Confident coordinating different departments and working with senior stakeholders.
• Experience using project management software, Gantt charts or similar planning tools.
• Understanding of manufacturing supply chains and purchasing processes.
• NPI, NPD or stage‑gate project experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• PRINCE2 or another recognised project management qualification would be advantageous
• Wrike experience would be beneficial but isn't essential

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple engineering and new product projects simultaneously.
• Develop and maintain project plans covering milestones, deliverables, resources, dependencies and timescales.
• Drive projects from initial concept through development, prototype, manufacturing and production launch.
• Coordinate activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Sales and Product Management.
• Lead project meetings and ensure actions are assigned, tracked and completed.
• Identify risks, delays, resource constraints and dependencies before they impact delivery.
• Chase actions and deliverables across departments to keep projects moving.
• Coordinate project stage‑gate reviews and maintain accurate documentation.
• Provide clear project progress, risk and milestone reporting to senior management.
• Support BOM, prototype testing, verification and product approval activities
