Job summary

WR Engineering, a well-established global engineering manufacturer, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to own growth across the North. This role isn’t a traditional account-management position; you’ll be at the heart of commercial strategy, influencing specifications and securing orders across end users, contractors, OEMs, consultants and dealers.

You’ll build strategic relationships, identify opportunities, and develop strategies for major tenders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical sales experience in engineering/oil & gas.
• Ability to influence both technical specifications and purchasing decisions.
• Comfort dealing with stakeholders from operational to board level.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow strategic relationships with key customers, consultants, dealers and end users.
• Identify new projects, markets and commercial opportunities and turn them into profitable orders.
• Influence customer specifications at an early stage to position the company's products for success.
• Develop commercial and technical strategies for major tenders and project opportunities.
• Work with internal teams to deliver revenue, margin and market-share targets.
• Take ownership of key accounts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Bring customer and market intelligence back to shape future product development.
• Represent the company at exhibitions, seminars and customer events.
• Spend around 80% of your time in front of customers, with autonomy to manage your territory.
